The name \u201cGozanoshi Shrine\u201d originates from an incident in the third year of the Keian era (1650), when Lord Satake Yoshitaka, the feudal lord of the Akita Domain, sat down to rest while touring Lake Tazawa.
\nNear the vermilion-lacquered torii gate, there are several famous sites, including the \u201cNanairogi\u201d (Seven-Colored Tree)\u2014a single tree from which seven different types of trees have grown\u2014the \u201cKatagashira Sacred Spring,\u201d where Tatsuko drank the water and transformed into a dragon, and the \u201cKagami-ishi\u201d (Mirror Stone), in which Tatsuko\u2019s reflection was once seen.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n\n
